Next pool

The grid has been brought back online. Like at the previous run, this is provisionally. We still have a pool of assets being disabled at the moment. This pool needs to be scrubbed, stored, verified, and its result merged with the current existing asset pool. This line of text takes quite a bit longer to execute than to write however. Back end team had planned to do this in smaller batches but that doesn’t seem to be the technically desirable option any longer. Leaving us with having to process the whole pool in one continuous run. This process will run on the same cluster, and thus can have impact on in-world performance.

Plaza’s and residents regions restarted fine, current monitored impact on grid operations is low. We have again seen some reports of people missing assets. Skins, textures, etc. Whilst that being super annoying we don’t have the means nor capacity to troubleshoot individual assets at this moment. So for the time being wear something else until the above process is finished. Don’t delete things. We’re confident all will work out once the process is completed.

We will save the Q&A for the 15th of December, when OSgrids Community Member meeting is planned. The above process takes time, so we don’t expect it to be handled and dealt with by than. We’ll try to keep impact inworld as limited as possible, and avoid downtime. Whilst it’s not an ideal situation, we will do all within our capabilities to get this resolved. Give it some time. We’d like say thanks to a few people. First of all the backend team, working hard on getting this resolved. Second to all the friendly grid owners at various other grids that warmly welcomed and harbored our dislocated residents during these outages. Much appreciated. And thank you, for your continued patience and support.
